Dr. Adamu Braimah Abille

Research Fellow

Dr. Abille is an economist and researcher specializing in International Economics, Macroeconomics, Non-Bank Financial Intermediaries, Systemic Risks, and Financial Stability. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Institute of Economic Research, Slovak Academy of Sciences, and Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia, where his doctoral thesis examined the nexus between illicit financial flows, shadow banking, and financial stability.

Dr. Abille brings a strong record of international scholarship and recognition. He is a recipient of the Slovak Academy of Sciences Award for the 2nd Best Social Science PhD Student (2024), the Rector's Award for Best Master's Thesis at Eskisehir Osmangazi University (2023), and a Best Paper Award at the 25th MEKON International Conference in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He has also received research grants from the Slovak Ministry of Science and Education and the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He graduated with First Class Honors in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, placing in the top 3% of his class.

Currently serving as a Policy Analyst at the Integrated Social Development Center (ISODEC) in Accra, Ghana, Dr. Abille's work spans illicit financial flows, debt sustainability, climate finance, and fiscal reform across Sub-Saharan Africa. His expertise aligns closely with GTA's Trade, Investment, and Sustainability pillars, and he brings a rigorous empirical foundation — including advanced proficiency in STATA, R, EVIEWS, and econometric modeling — that will strengthen our research and grant development capacity considerably.
