Ms. Pamla Gopaul is the Head of the Africa Policy Bridge Tank Programme and leads the Economic Analysis and Foresight Unit at the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD. A visionary strategist and seasoned policy expert, she is at the forefront of shaping Africa’s development agenda through evidence-based policy innovation. Under her leadership, the Africa Policy Bridge Tank has evolved into a dynamic platform that effectively bridges the gap between rigorous research and impactful policy action, transforming complex data and foresight into tangible solutions for the continent’s most pressing challenges.
Ms. Gopaul has successfully steered multi-sectoral dialogues, fostered cross-institutional partnerships, and championed the uptake of research into high-level policy frameworks, positioning the Bridge Tank as a continental catalyst for policy coherence and transformation. Her strategic oversight ensures that AUDA-NEPAD’s programs are not only aligned with its long-term vision but are also responsive to emerging economic and social trends.
Previously serving as Senior Policy Officer and Coordinator to the CEO, Ms. Gopaul brings a wealth of experience in executive advisory and institutional leadership. She is a Policy Advisory Sub-Committee Member for Global Citizen and an associate of the Women in Finance Network. Her global engagements include serving as a Senior Fellow at the South Asian Institute for Advanced Research & Development (SAIARD) and co-leading the T20/G20 Task Force subcommittee. She represents AUDA-NEPAD at the G20 Development Working Group and plays a pivotal stewardship role in the Global Alliance for Life Economy on Research and Innovation (GALERI), advancing the Life Economies study.
